FAQ

When is the best time to book a pregnancy shoot?
Call me when you reach around 20 weeks (or as early as you feel comfortable) and we can put a date in the calendar.  To avoid disappointment I always advise early booking – we can always re-schedule if necessary.

The prime time to photograph your bump is around 34 weeks (28 weeks if you are expecting twins).  If you have already reached 34 weeks don’t despair; I operate a very efficient waiting list and can generally accommodate you!

What can I expect at a pregnancy shoot – I feel a bit nervous about taking off my clothes.
For pregnancy portraits, this may be the first time you have posed nude or semi nude. As you can see from the gallery, all photographs of your pregnancy will be taken as discreetly as possible and I offer a range of fabrics to drape and flatter your shape.  I suggest wearing loose clothing prior to the shoot, avoiding tight underclothing if possible.  Hair and make-up is down to your own personal preference on the day. Don’t worry about stretch marks or blemishes, as these can be altered digitally.

Take the opportunity to capture a wondrous stage of you and your baby’s life. Your beautiful bump deserves it!

What’s the difference between a lifestyle shoot and a studio shoot?

Lifestyle shoots are photo shoots taken in an environment where you all feel happy and comfortable, such as your home or the park – the beach is always a favourite spot!  We spend however long we need to to capture the best images of everyone, with plenty of snack stops and wardrobe changes.  I recommend a lifestyle shoot for families with children aged 6 months and over.  Lifestyle shoots last around 2-3 hours but can sometimes vary depending  on everyone’s energy levels.

A studio shoot is held in the studio in Hampshire with tea, coffee and if I haven’t eaten them all – biscuits!  There is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the shoot.  This is recommended for pregnancy and newborn shoots and for those with babies under 6 months old.  I keep the studio nice and warm for little ones and have plenty of rest breaks.  Studio shoots generally last around 2 hours.

Will you come to us?  I travel all over the UK, being in based in Hampshire means I can reach London, Dorset, Sussex, the West Country - all over the place really!  Please contact me for a quotation as travelling time and travel costs are charged as an extra.

Is there a minimum spend? No, there is no minimum, however, I tend to find that clients typically spend between £1,000-£7,000 on a range of albums and wall art as the shoots are seen as an investment in your family’s history.

Can I buy the images on disc to use myself?  Yes, I offer several packages so you can buy the digital files.  Any client spending over £2,500 has them included with my compliments.
